2014-15

2014-2015:

This year we have been awarded the Sainsbury's School Games Bronze Award, having previously received a Silver Award.  This was based on the number of hours teaching PE, school sports opportunities, number of young leaders supporting activities in school and number of competitions within school and against other schools. We believe this decrease in award level is due to a dip in participation in competition entry.  As a result of this the school's main focus for this year will be to increase participation and competition entry (see our sports pages for competitions entered this year).  We will use this information as a benchmark for the following year.  This was based on the number of hours teaching PE, school sports opportunities, number of young leaders supporting activities in school and number of competitions within school and against other schools.

New MUGA:

We are also delighted that in September 2015 we received a Sport England grant for £28,900 to enable us to purchase a MUGA (Multi Use Games Area) and Climbing Wall.  This has greatly enhanced our school playground and is proving very popular for football, basketball, cricket and volleyball sessions.  The funding also enabled us to have coloured playground surfaces too.  We are very grateful to Sport England for their funding!
