500 Word Magic๐Ÿ–Š

Today year 3 took part in the BBC’s live lesson for the 500 Word story competition, alongside schools across the country. We had great fun contributing to the the shared story, as well as starting to think of a plot line for our own. We didn’t get a mention on the show but we did receive a  thank you e-mail for all of our ideas. Well done everyone ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Wicked Word Walls!

Today we created word walls as part of getting to know our new text in guided reading. You built really tall walls and I look forward to turning these into word clouds. Well done on a great lesson :)

Stone Age Treasures

Thank you to everyone who has brought in or found books and artefacts for us to share about the Stone Age.

Touching the Stone Age

Today we got to hold a real Stone Age axe. Wow!!!

Big Maths and Dick Whittington

Today we tackled our Big Maths challenges against the clock. I was so proud of you.

Then we watched the fantastic pantomime of Dick Whittington. Some of us were even lucky enough to go on stage and meet the characters!

Super Mary Anning Quiz!

Wow! Look at our super Mary Anning quiz. We shall play this in class on Monday :) I have uploaded it as well so that you can show it to your grown ups!

Fantastic Investigation!

Today we investigated how people lived in the Stone Age and we also created a timeline of events. Well done ๐Ÿ‘

Great Guided Reading

We started our new text in guided reading today. It is called ‘Coasts’. We started by visualising the title. You drew some great images ๐Ÿ“•

Welcome Back!

Happy New Year! It was lovely to see your smiling faces this morning. We have had a fabulous day, starting to explore life in the Stone Age. We started by making a physical timeline to understand when the Stone Age took place. It was so big that we had to do it on the playground.
