Journey through space, the final frontier...

Navigate beyond the Sun: the magnificent, blazing star at the centre of our Solar System!

Investigate the eight plants - Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. Take a look at the Moon, a celestial body that orbits Earth.

Programme a 'rover' to traverse a lunar landscape and work scientifically to investigate gravity, and what happens when there is none! Compare the time of day at different places on Earth and use GPS satellite navigation systems to track hidden treasure! Get in a spin making simple models of the Solar System and listen to the haunting sounds of space-themed songs.

Then it's three, two, one... BLAST OFF! Build and launch a rocket for an important test mission.

Exploring space is probably the greatest adventure that humankind has ever undertaken. Are we alone or are there other life forms out there?

Stargazers Homework

Topic homework has been given out for this half term. All children should complete two pieces of homework and have a choice between English, creative and science based activities. Please ensure the two pieces you complete are from two separate columns. These pieces of homework should have some time and effort put into them so that they can be displayed in our school. The children should be able to talk about what they have done for homework presentations. Spare homework sheets can be found in the classroom for those who may have lost their homework sheet.

Stargazers Topic Homework

What a fabulous start to our space topic. So far we have been to space with VR headsets, as well as having a visit from various astronauts, planets and aliens on Wednesday. A huge thank you for all the work that went into costumes to make the day such a success. We are now producing written work about what we have learnt so far about the Solar System as well beginning to write our diary entry as an astronaut visiting Mars.
