Navigate beyond the Sun: the magnificent, blazing star at the centre of our Solar System!
Investigate the eight plants - Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. Take a look at the Moon, a celestial body that orbits Earth.
Programme a 'rover' to traverse a lunar landscape and work scientifically to investigate gravity, and what happens when there is none! Compare the time of day at different places on Earth and use GPS satellite navigation systems to track hidden treasure! Get in a spin making simple models of the Solar System and listen to the haunting sounds of space-themed songs.
Then it's three, two, one... BLAST OFF! Build and launch a rocket for an important test mission.
Exploring space is probably the greatest adventure that humankind has ever undertaken. Are we alone or are there other life forms out there?

Stargazers Homework
Topic homework has been given out for this half term. All children should complete two pieces of homework and have a choice between English, creative and science based activities. Please ensure the two pieces you complete are from two separate columns. These pieces of homework should have some time and effort put into them so that they can be displayed in our school. The children should be able to talk about what they have done for homework presentations. Spare homework sheets can be found in the classroom for those who may have lost their homework sheet.
Today, we took part in a virtual reality workshop where we visited all of the different planets in our solar system. We learned lots of different facts and were able to share these. It was an excellent beginning to our topic (even if the journey made us feel a bit sick!)
