How is it the last term already?!
We cannot believe how quickly this year has gone and that we are already on to our last topic! We will be researching famous artistic rebels, experimenting with colours and trying our best to squeeze as much of this topic in as possible. We have lots of other things lined up for our Y6s, including our cinema trip, sports day, dodgeball tournaments and visitors in to school!
Our Homework this half term has consisted of our Y6s choosing a topic of interest to them and creating a presentation to share with the class. As part of this, classes drafted and sent letters to a person or company linked to their projects and some received fantastic replies! Have a look at the photos below 😊
A particularly brilliant reply came from the Japanese Water Gardens after Cameron wrote to them explaining his interest in tortoises. Wendy responded to Cameron’s letter and very kindly offered for a member of their staff to bring a tortoise into school to show our class! Angie brought a small visitor in and Cameron helped share more information. We also learnt about the many different reptiles, fish and other animals the Japanese Water Gardens keep. It seems as though our class may be asking for some new pets at home! A huge thank you to the staff who made this possible for 6R. Photos below!
