Enterprise Initiative

APRIL 2016

What a successful term we have had. Our Enterprise team have worked extremely hard and as a result have to date raised a grand total of £496.79. This means that they have a profit of £100.00. This has been made up of a child tombola stall, guess the sweets in a jar and guess the name of a teddy. They also ran a Beautician Studio that offered nail painting and tattoos. Also a huge thank you to everyone that took part in the Bake Off. We managed to raise a grand total of £180.00 from selling them after school and to the children at playtime. There were 91 entries that had to be judged - I'm just glad that I didn't have to make that choice, there were lots of fantastic designs. This was also added to with selling our hand made products on our market stall with Charlotte Infants, where we managed to raise £100.00.

We are having a short break but will be back with more stalls and ideas soon - including an adult tombola and a car wash. The difficult decision is what to spend the money on!

Year 5 and year 6 children have been given the opportunity to be part of our Enterprise Team. Twenty two children have taken on the role with enthusiasm and dedication. They have been set the challenge of having £20 to make items to then sell on Ilkeston Market place on Wednesday March 23rd. In order for their money to go further they have embarked upon a variety of ideas to help raise more money so that they have a bigger pot to spend. More details of these events to follow.

We are also working with the children from Year 2 at Charlotte Infants to make our Easter/spring themed gifts. Last week we were lucky enough to make scented melts. The children were able to make their own scents, shape and name for their designs.

Next week we will be making candles, maybe painting pots and looking at how to make bath bombs!
